Meetup.com - jenkinsmeetup/ group

Hi all,

I just discovered that I am the owner of https://www.meetup.com/jenkinsmeetup/, and the group's billing is charged to my Meetup account. I assume Tyler has transferred it to me at some point, but I'm not 100% sure. This group was used for FOSDEM 2024, but it is not very active.

Would someone from the active contributors be willing to take over this group? I would also use a partial reimbursement, but not sure this case would be justified as the group is largely dormant.

Can you cancel the subscription?

The last event was 2 years ago, followed by a 4-year gap of no events. It seems a little pointless to me to keep it up for two events in 6 years.

I don't disagree with you, but I wanted to give a chance someone from the community to take it over.

My subscription was renewed on 28th of December, and I decided to give it a bit more time at that point. So this subscription will last for another 6 months. The same applies to Jenkins Meetup Switzerland (DMed to Valentin in December).

I guess the main use case this group is notifying contributor summit for FOSDEM and other events - this is how this group was used before (initially it was owned by Tyler Croy).

And in event we don't have any takers for new organizers they (CDF) will likely cancel the subscription as meetup fees can add up and be costly.
