does anyboby run into this issue when using Eclipse + droolsjbpm plugin to construct process diagram with user task? Save and reopen it, double click the User Task node, the error pops up. i found only Kepler works well, all other versions of Eclipse (from Mars to Oxygen) all have the same. I have submitted a JIRA: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.eclipse.bpmn2.impl.ExpressionImpl incompatible with org.eclipse.bpmn2.FormalExpression

Hi,

Just tried it and can’t really reproduce it. I use
BPMN2 Modeler 1.5.0.Final-v20180515-1642-B1

On Eclipse
Version: Photon Release (4.8.0)
Build id: 20180619-1200

Maciej,
Thanks for your reply. I retry the Photon but unfortunately still get same error. The below is my steps:
1) Download one brand new Photon: eclipse-java-photon-R-win32-x86_64.zip
2) Unzip it, and install droolsjbpm plugin: org.drools.updatesite-6.5.0.Final.zip
3) Import the enclosed jbpm diagram test project: testBpmn.
4) Open the diagram: sample.bpmn. And double click the first task: Task 1.
5) the error pops up as shown in the enclosed error.png. Please refer to the .log for the detailed error information.

please help to see if my eclipse is missing anything? When I try other versions(Mars, Luna, Neon, Oxygen) I saw the same error. but Kepler works well. Also I tried 6.2.0.Final plugin to them respectively, the same result.

Tried it and the same - it works without any issue. What version of the plugin do you use?

The droolsjbpm plugin for Eclipse
is from the official 6.5.0.Final installer.

6.5.0 is rather old and was for sure not build for newer eclipse versions. So remove that one and use eclipse marketplace to find the one suitable for your eclipse version.

Maybe this is somehow related to windows .. although I don’t have any windows machine to test this out. Maybe someone else in the community can give it a try and report back if that happens on windows…

Maciej,

I set up a CentOs and tried Photon and Neon both pluged-in 7.9.0. both they opened the user task node successfully(but the I/O parameters showed no entries). But back to Windows, they failed to show the User Task popup. Anyway, Kepler platform works well on the Windows. Thank you very much for your help.
