Hey gang, 

A new month is upon us so I thought I would start a fresh thread here. I hope you're all doing well these days. 

We had a pretty slow month in September by our usual standards, which is a bit disappointing given how much has been going on around our beloved Blue Jays. Admittedly I wasn't as active as I would have liked to have been either due to other things going on in my life either, but I'm hoping to dive in a lot more here in October and I hope that several of you will join me. 

Tyson is really good at throwing out ideas, and I thought I'd take a smaller stab at the same here today. Let us know if any of these interest you: 

- Will Gurriel Jr. and/or Espinal be healthy for the playoffs?
- Breaking down the numbers against the playoff field (look at stuff like team slash lines/ERA, etc vs. the Mariners, Rays, Yankees, etc. This info can be found on baseball reference)
- Should the Blue Jays carry a 3rd catcher (Moreno) in the playoffs?
- Has the 2nd half saved some jobs? (maybe Pete Walker, Guillermo Martinez, etc)
- Review of Bo Bichette's incredible September numbers
- Compare Bass/Pop's #'s to other notable relievers moved at the deadline

And of course, we're more than happy to hear your ideas and generally give you the go-ahead unless there's a good reason not to. There's a lot to write about these days anyway, and a fan base that is reading anything they can find, so it's a good time to get eyes on your work. 

I'll leave it at that for now, but thanks for all you do and have yourselves a great weekend!

All yours Miguel. I don't know if you were able to watch last night's game, but Buck was talking about it and how it's getting unlikely at this point, at least for the first round. I tend to agree with him.

Article coming out on Buck calling it a career possibly. May I take a stab at how the broadcasts may sound in 2023 if Buck doesn’t return?

I’ve broken down my piece into separate articles regarding the postseason;

My piece on the importance of their offense is in.

I’d like to do a deep dive on the looming salary crunch… CBT payroll is already $204 million, and they will easily blow through the 2023 CBT threshold of $233 million if they try to retain everyone from 2022 given all of the arbitration eligible players due big raises, given Stripling is a free agent, and given Merrifield gets a $4 million performance bonus in 2023 for staying off the IL for >110 days in 2022.
