Hey Everyone,

New Thread here.

Last month, JJ finished fifth in the division with just under 850K views on the month and 86 articles. Job well done to everybody who contributed!Ā 

Overall, the other sites really only got ahead of us because they provided more articles and more content, as a majoirty of them reached the 100 mark plateau that we strive for here at JJ. The goal each month is to have every contributor write at least one article a month so we can hit those targets and I think our site does a pretty good job of sitting in the top five of the divison on both a weekly and monthly basis.

That being said, the Blue Jays are on a winning streak and the views are out there, so let's get moving.

Some ideas if you need:

1. Will the Jays trade for a starter if Ryu continues to stay hurt?
2. Internal options not named Pearson to take on Ryu's role (not named Stripling)
3. Where does Jordan Groshans feature into the callup picture this year?
4. Prospects the Jays may trade if they cannot protect them from the Rule 5 draft this offseason
5. Nate Pearson made his AAA rehab start last night - somebody want to analyze?
6. The Cy Young conversation - where do Manoah and Gausman stand? Who is in their way?
7. Players the Blue Jays should consider drafting this year
8. What the Jays lineup can do once Guerrero Jr. and Teo are going full speed again
9. Is Danny Jansen/Alejandro Kirk the C/DH tandem for the remainder of the season?
10. Raimel Tapia and his strong couple series

I added a blurb about how long he might be up, what he brings to the ball club, and the fact that his MLB debut against the Tigers gives him a chance to rub shoulders with legendary fellow Venezuelan Miguel Cabreraā€¦ surely playing against Miggy in the bigs will be a career highlight for the kid?Ā

Zach, feel free to write that one too, but I think your title will be really key. I was gonna write something similar last night with a title ā€œtrading a catcher just got more complicatedā€, as an example. Too many fans and readers see the title and react before reading, so with a story like this, try not to set them off until they click on the article if possible haha.Ā

Correct he is working for the Aā€™s . I have learned a ton from him about players in the Jays system and he has a phenomenal relationship with Jays fans to this day. I feel itā€™s a great story because heā€™s a great guy.

That being said. Do you think it could work? I maybe a bit biased.

I think it works, Brent. Jesse is a great dude (Iā€™ve been on a bunch of podcasts with him in the pastā€¦ maybe even with you as well haha), and I have no problem highlighting him here. As always we just have to make the Blue Jays connection, but thatā€™s easy enough.Ā

To follow up on Jasonā€™s excellent piece on Ryu, can I look atĀ whoĀ they might trade before the July TDL to acquire starting pitching to replace Ryu, in addition to relief depth? Ā 

With three wildcards, there may be less teams willing to sell; and, more teams driving up prices as buyers before the July trade deadline. They likely need another starter given Kikuchi has been ineffective (and who knows when Stripling might turn in to a pumpkin)ā€¦ Aaron Nola could be a rental (with a $16 million team option for 2023), while Frankie Montas and Luis Castillo have control until 2024. Also need better relief depth with Stripling in the rotation, Richardsā€™ not pitching well, the inevitable breakdown of Merryweather, Borucki DFAā€™d, etc.
