Hi Hans,

Nice. If you now add some AI it can generate its own music 🙂.

Kind regards,

Rob

Hi Hans,

One question. How did you align the movement with the music?

Just curious.

Kind regards,

Rob

Hi Hans,

That I know but my question is about the relation between the movement and the music.

Is it in some way synchronized or is the movement just random?

Kind regards,

Rob

Sorry Rob, Everything is based on MIDI, so completely synchronous.
Midi itself does not make music, it is an electronic form of sheet music.
A Midi player, e.g. a keyboard, sends out midi signals that are converted into sound in a synthesizer.
I use the same signals to generate the movements.
Each note has a position of one of the arms.
On/off controls the solenoids under the hands.
If you want to know more, the internet is bursting at the seams about this.
Download the attached midi file and just play it on your PC. (which then works as a synthesizer.
What is even more fun: download the program ANVIL STUDIO that I have been using myself for years, (https://www.anvilstudio.com), load that file and see for yourself what it looks like.
Greetings
Hans
