Hi everyone. It's time for a new release. Happy new year.

I'll create a beta package in 2 weeks which would be Jan 15/16 if I have time that weekend.

I am not able to run ./tools/torelease.py, Looks like it was updated recently to require >python 3.5 so I tried but get an error:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "D:\dev\Jallib-github-svn\tools\torelease.py", line 46, in <module>
    from pic2jal_environment import check_and_set_environment
ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'pic2jal_environment'

I got this output from ./tools/pic2jal_environment.py:
Base for all output: D:\picdevices
MPLABX version: 5.50

Please help.
Thanks,
Matt.

Hi Matt,

I did not realize that torelease.py used the pic2_jalenvironment.py script too.

The paths in those python scripts are to what Rob H used and what I am using for the development of device files.

I think the best thing to do is to change the paths in torelease.py so that it works for your environment and not to include the pic2jal_envorinment.jal file but put its contents - with the right paths - in torelease.py so that it does not affect the torelease.py script anymore.

Of course it would be nicer to have used environment variables for this.

Strange that this is happening now since it has been like this for quite some time.

So it seems that your path is to: D:\dev\Jallib-github-svn\

You only have to apply it for the OS that you are using.

If you need more info or help let me know.

Kind regards,

Rob

Hi Matt,

I ran torelease.py and the output is the eaxactly same as the current TORELEASE file om GitHub. I attached the new TORELEASE to this e-mail so that you can see it.

Attached you also find the listfile of torelease.py.

I also ran torelease.py with the a parameter and then you get some more info about files not in the release.

So the file TORELEASE on GitHub seems to be OK.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

BTW. MPLABX 6.00 was just released and there are some small changes in device files. I ran the scripts yesterday and need to do some checks. I think there are no big changes so it is better not to uploade them now but after the release. OK?

Have a great weekend.

Kind regards,

Rob

I was planning to release the beta yesterday but the website is down at the moment because the domain company Enom was down while they were working on their name servers, possibly due to an attack.

Although Enom is back up, the website nameservers will need some time to resolve.

Matt.
