Hi,

Like I see in https://github.com/jacoco/jacoco/wiki/FilteringOptions, it may be possible to exclude methods with agent.
It's already the case or it just a wish to the future?
because I have I test this and it seem to not working but maybe I have misconfigured my execution.

Thx in advance

Thomas

Hi,

Top of this page states:
This wiki is primarily used by JaCoCo developers to analyze and design new features. For users please see the latest documentation ( https://www.jacoco.org/jacoco/ ).

Latest documentation of Agent property "excludes" ( https://www.jacoco.org/jacoco/trunk/doc/agent.html ) explicitly states:
list of class names that should be excluded from execution analysis

So answer is no - it is not possible to exclude methods in configuration of agent.

I read the top of the page but i was not sure about the actual status of this case, thx again.

Maybe I can help to as this feature ? If its not too complicated? Have you some pointer?

First let's clarify following:

mentioned page has no single word "agent",

at a time when everyone were able to edit this page, such idea was added by Fabrice Daugan

and we responded that exclusion of methods from final report cannot and should not be done via "excludes" options of agent

and since there is no reasons to exclude methods at instrumentation time (agent), this idea was eventually removed

---

The same page already mentions one of difficulties with manual exclusion of methods from final report

To avoid this and many other complications with manual exclusions in general, my personal advice - is to look into direction of your own custom report generator based on XML report post-processing.

Regards,
Evgeny
