Zoom's new "Live Performance" audio profile!?

Hi there,

I just noticed that there is now a "live performance" audio profile mode on zoom. I wonder if anyone here: 

1) has tried it and would be willing to share some insights

2) has any idea of what exactly is zoom using under the hood...

3) is willing to try it with me, perform some measurements and, well, maybe play a little ;)

O tried it last week with a voice student who live almost 500 miles away. Unsuccessful. Lots of weird noises.

Thanks for sharing. I am curious to understand the source of the weird noises.

I've seen a reference to the need to set audio to 48k (*) and I wonder if that could be the reason for the noise you heard (?)

I agree it could be easier to change sample rate of computer audio. But there are also good reasons why that isn't so.

(*) incidentally, that might give a clue to what it is that zoom is using...
