The first release candidate, 2.13.0-rc1, of Jackson was just released.
I am trying to add notes on:

https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson/issues/83

for the release process; included changes should be listed on:

https://github.com/FasterXML/jackson/wiki/Jackson-Release-2.13

(let me know what is missing, or, if you have access, feel free to add
entries from individual repos' release notes)

At this point I do not plan on working on major new features -- some I
hoped to include are postponed until 2.14 as I haven't really had
enough time to spend on Jackson due to work, life in general -- but
rather the focus is on trying to make 2.13 release as bug-free and
backwards-compatible as possible. Fixes to all kinds of issues are
welcome, of course.

But the one thing that everyone could help with is validation of
compatibility, reporting compatibility issues found -- especially
those between 2.12.4 (recently released) and 2.13.0-rc1.
This is the time when regressions are easiest to address, and I feel
we have made some progress over recent minor releases: compatibility
issues seemed more common around Jackson 2.4 - 2.7 area, and despite
increase in number of modules, usage, I feel there are not quite as
many issues lately.
And these improvements are mostly due to participation of the larger
community: so anyone, if you can run a test suite on the system you
develop, using the latest release candidate, that'd be very helpful.
Let's squash the annoying little regression bugs before they make
their way into .0 release!

Thank you in advance,
