Anyone ever fabricated or seen done a hard dodge for a J/42 ?

Hi all,

Curious if anyone has ever seen done for a J/42. If done, curious if it has to be a permanent addition or could be “removable?”

Possible / not possible ? Contemplating options and welcome any comments.

I have contemplated the same. It’d have to be removable and I’d want it as light as possible. Discussed briefly making one with foam and carbon.

It’s all possible. The question is can you design one that looks like it belongs there. 

I contemplated this for a couple of years in anticipation of making an Atlantic crossing.  Finally settled on buying another boat that was designed from scratch with the cabin house in mind. I’m

happy I made that decision.

Noah Peffer has/had a hard dodger he made. 

In 2022 I had toyed with the idea of using his mold, but would have had to ship it coast-to-coast and then probably have someone make the dodger so it looked professionally done.
