A couple of announcements RE: ECCs and a clinic opportunity

Hello,

First off, in the sailing committee meeting yesterday at SSA, the concern about the J/70 NAs at AYC 10/27 - 11/1 will correspond with the ECCs for J/22s and 24s on 10/23-10/25.  If anyone on the list has some lot space available that we could potentially move boats from SSA / AYC / EYC to make room for the traveling boats (without a charge).  If anyone is aware of such a location,  please reach out.

Secondly, I've been approached by Shane Kilberg, who sailed J/22s in college, who has put on race clinics for the J/105s in the area, and is thinking about putting on a series of clinics for J/22s.  His site is located here:  https://bestboatingannapolis.com/j22-clinics.html.  Without endorsement, I'm just wondering if there is interest.

Cary,

I’m interested in the J22 clinics, depending on cost.

Am wondering how many boats can be coached by one person at one time.

If the number is too large, maybe there would be more than one coach.

If there is a desire for a clinic im sure Jeff Todd and I can find a weekend in which we can recruit some of the local talent who have placed in major regattas to do some on the water coaching for free. 

Additionally if people have setup question or questions in general most of the top local guys are very approachable and super free with information and tips.

Hi Jake,

What a generous offer!  Being a newcomer to the fleet, I’d certainly like to take you up on it.

How would it work?  Would you folks coach from a variety of launches or from onboard various boats?

 

I’d like to take up Shane on his proposal, too.  If I can’t do all 10 days this summer, maybe 5 days this summer and 5 more in 2027.

Wondering if it makes sense for you, Jeff Todd, other local talent, and Shane to collaborate.

 

Shane is great at organizing, coaching, and using drones, as the J/105 fleet knows.

Of course, his business needs income, and we want him to stay afloat, too.

Well, that sounds great, Jacob.  I think it would be great to have a boat setup and rig tension clinic, along with some side-by-side speed tuning.  

It would be great to do something towards the end of March, early April so we can be all set for the new season.

Jeff, Jess, would those dates be ok with you if we could get Jacob and Jeff?
