hi there

I'm running Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS and itksnap 3.4 works very well on our system.
However, I want to update to the latest itksnap 3.8 and it's not working.
I've tried "sudo apt install itksnap" but it doesn't recognize us as needing a newer version than 3.4.
I've also downloaded the *.tar.gz and tried these instructions with appropriate filename modifications
but no go. Finally, when i type "which itksnap" i get /usr/bin/itksnap (although those instructions say to put it in /local/ which i tried)

help? thanks!

You should be able to untar the .tar.gz file and run

..../itksnap-3.8.0-Linux/bin/itk-snap

without copying any files anywhere.

Paul.
