Hello,

I have iTerm 3.5.0.beta11 set up as a popup hotkey window. It used to be a fully resizable window, using the default size specified in the Popup profile/Window settings.

At some point about a month ago, it started taking full screen width, and when I grab the edge of the window to resize it, the hint says "Fixed-width window". On an ultrawide monitor, it's horrible.

I installed stable build 3.4.20, and it behaves the same way.

Shall I report a bug, or can I do anything else?

Hi Victor

At,

Preferences → Profiles → Hotkey Window (Profile) → Window → Style

Change from "Full-Width Top of Screen" to "Top of Screen".

Should do it...

Kind regards

Thank you. Problem is, I already have "Top of Screen" style set in "Popup" profile.
I tried switching it to something else and then back, and restarting the process, it didn't help. New popup windows are still full screen wide and cannot be resized horizontally.

Ar, that's unfortunate.  Perhaps it would be worth deleting your Popup profile and then re-creating a new one?

(Also, the Profile can be dumped as JSON from within Preferences.  You could dump your Popup profile and verify that there is only one "Window Type" entry and that it has a value of 9 — that may give some hints to the issue!)

Good luck!

For anyone passing by this question, I ran into the same thing. Following the path Adrian mentioned in his first message, if I set Style to "Normal", then open a new iterm2 window, new windows can be resized.
