Is it possible to fire a popover such as the one created from the async_open_popover of the status bar in a python function without making a status bar component?

I have a script function that i would like to just put up a few strings when it has done its trigger processing.

No, only status bar components can create popovers. A trigger that presents info in a popover-like UI seems like a good idea. We already have alert box triggers but they are so invasive. Where would you want the popover to come from in this scenario?

I was attempting to have a popover pop up anytime I select something that is a Base64 encoded string.  seems like it would be really helpful
