Hi everyone i recently noticed that whenever i started iterm it will spikes the use of resources up to 11GB on every startup, windows are not restored tho, and it makes my mac always run out of spaces with the consequent popup system finished resources, i tried to troubleshoot the zshrc config hoping it was that one, deleting some cache files and some other tries but none of them actually worked. How can i solve this issue? If files are needed to troubleshoot this config pls let me know. Thanks

11 gb is a lot. Are you saying the usage comes back down after startup? If you’re able to, grab a memory graph while it’s huge. You can make a memory graph by running leaks --outputGraph=/tmp/graph.memgraph $PID where $PID is the process ID of the iTerm2 process that's using a lot of memory. Run it in Terminal.app so you can catch it at the right moment.

Hi, thanks for the answer, what i meant was that i had this popup displayed to me showing me that the system has finished memory and saw the iterm entry taking 11gb of spaces, then by force quitting it the entry was deleted by that popup, but then after reopening iterm it went straight up into the entry taking again 11gb, and no it wouldn't stabilize after using it, but instead if i ran something it would just increment the gb taken.
Just for clarity I'm attaching a photo found online of the popup i saw(i don't currently see one) as well as the memgraph(tho again i don't see now the popup as some time passed)

It looks like it’s leaking a lot of small images. I’m curious, if you quit iTerm2 and temporarily rename ~/Library/Application Support/iTerm2/SavedState to ~/Library/Application Support/iTerm2/bad.SavedState does the problem go away?

Hi, i've just did what you said and i'm attaching the new graph, exactly i've done the following step:
- force quit iterm
- start the terminal and mv that file as you said, so now having under ls ~/Library/Application\ Support/iTerm2 -> bad.SavedState
- opened iterm and just cleaned some docker as i had no space left on the device
- ran from terminal the graph generator and here it is
lol.memgraph

Did the grow to 11 gigs this time?

I can't say if it does or not, as the popup is no longer present, i get it only when system finish resources and hopefully now it didn't. However when i saw it first time it was not a constant grow but rather seemed like a cache valued as killing and restarting it would get in 1 millisecond to 11.something gb on that popup. Not sure how i can test
