Position Summary/Job Description:
•        Perform engineering tasks related to design, install, configure and manage IBM MQ/IBM Broker (ACE) / Kafka/RabbitMQ solutions in a large-scale environment that are either on-premises data centers or on private/public cloud and across distributed platforms like Linux, Windows etc.,
•        Perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration,
maintenance and troubleshooting of infrastructure in Data Center and / or on Cloud (AWS) following standardized and automated setup of environments using Infrastructure-as-Code.
•        Work with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Chef, Vagrant, and Test-
Kitchen.
•        Ensure that the technologies and architecture are up-to-date, stable, and
compliant, meeting enterprise and security standards.
•        Proactively monitor and report performance and utilization of assigned
technologies.
•        Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues & failures.
•        Resolve alerts and perform remediation activities.
•        Provide input into infrastructure architecture designs.
•        Utilize industry standard technologies & methods to ensure the integrity & recoverability of messaging-based systems like backup & recovery, clustering, security, patch management, enterprise monitoring & performance tuning.
•        Leverage Agile Development Methodologies.
•        Participate in a rotating on call schedule.
•        Collaboratively working with, and taking direction from, a Senior Engineer.

What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?
•        3-5 years System Administration experience on an enterprise level.
•        3-5 years of experience and familiarity with IT management processes, software products, server setups, application monitoring, troubleshooting, security, performance optimizations and patching systems on On-Prem and / or On-Cloud.
•        1-3 years of experience onboarding, configurating, optimizing and
troubleshooting middleware application stacks: IBM MQ/ACE/Kafka/RabbitMQ.
•        At least 1 year of experience using automation and configuration management tools such as Chef / Ansible or Puppet
•        Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, eagerness to learn new technologies and research new technologies, tools, analytics techniques to invest in your skills and grow, improve, and ability to work independently.

What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?
•        Bachelor's or advanced degree in IT, Computer Science or related field.
•        Experience with: CHEF scripting.
•        Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Kibana, Grafana and Splunk
•        Experience utilizing industry standard technologies and methods to ensure integrity and recoverability of platforms.
•        Familiarity with Agile systems management processes and standards.
•        Experience collaborating and communicating across IT teams, departments and with internal and external customers.
•        Excellent communication and people skills.
•        Comfortable working in an Apple MacBook development environment.
