Position Summary/Job Description:This is a senior QA Engineer role, which will involve testing a variety of applications maintained by the Commerce View team. These applications include desktop web views, mobile web views, as well as native experiences in the Best Buy mobile app. Testing will involve writing automation test cases (web and mobile) as well as some manual test scenarios. All candidates should exhibit the following qualities:

Overall QA responsibilities also include the following:• Create and follow manual test plans.
• Create and follow automated test plans.
• Efficiently log and track defects in JIRA.
• Interact with multiple teams for integration testing and for test data needs.
• Attend Sprint Planning meetings and other related Agile testing activities.
• Participate in defining acceptance criteria for user stories.
• Document and summarize test results and report findings .
• Develop and provide testing metrics and reports for QA dashboards to effectively communicate test status to the test team and management.
• Help document and track key project milestones and overall project deliverables, and adhere to organizational quality standards.
What are the top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job?1. 10+ years of overall QA experience.
2. 3+ years of QA automation experience.
3. 1+ years of mobile automation testing experience (e.g., Appium).
4. Experience in finding the root cause of issues by analyzing application logs in systems such as Splunk or Kibana.
5. Experience testing front-end applications using browser developer tools to track network requests, inspect DOM elements and components, and monitor console errors.
What are some preferred/nice to have skills the manager is looking for?1. Experience with E-Commerce applications.
2. Experience in A/B or multivariant testing.
3. Proficiency using a web proxy such as Charles or Fiddler.
4. Solid understanding of code branching strategies using Git or other SCM tool.
5. Experience testing highly complex domains with at least 5-10 integrations.
Prescreening Questions: Must be submitted on resume, no exceptions!1. Suppose that the business wants to implement login functionality on their website and have a requirement that on login with valid credentials, user will be redirected to home page; and for incorrect credentials, an "Invalid Login credentials" error message is displayed. Do you need any other information from business to test the login feature? If yes, list the additional questions that you would ask the business team.
2. On an E-commerce website, suppose you have an item in your cart. When you click on Checkout button, there is no change on the screen. Explain your approach to triage the issue.
3. What are tools that you have used in testing that you like and why?
Interview Process Overview:There may or may not be a 30-minute phone pre-screen interview conducted initially; this will depend on the volume and quality of the applications. After or in place of that, a 60-minute interview will be conducted with the hiring manager and team members. During the interview the candidate will be expected to be on camera and may be asked to participate in screen sharing and coding/testing exercises.
