Android Lead Engineer
Location: Plano, TX
Duration: Long Term
Responsibilities:
· Gathering technical requirements for the implementation of solutions in the mobile application development space.
· Engaging in the evaluation of new mobile methods, quality development frameworks and approaches.
· Create architecture deliverables for the mobile domain that supports the strategic direction for the enterprise.
· Establish collaborative and productive relationships with business partners and stakeholders, product and delivery teams, vendors and other supporting teams.
· Ensure teams are building using modern practices and tools.
· Recognize and act of your responsibility for driving change for the entire development community.
· Ability to communicate, both internally and externally, in an effective, timely professional and courteous manner.
· Ability to work in an environment of competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus.
· Capable of upwardly influencing the strategic direction of business solutions.
· Ready to get hands on if needed.
· Mentoring, inspiring and leading engineers on proper development practices, patterns, and techniques.
· Flexibility and creativity in solution design including leveraging emerging technologies.
Experience and Qualifications:
· Hands-on experience in Design, Architecting and Developing Native Mobile Applications across Android
· 10+ years of industry experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and interactive design and architecture
· Strong understanding of complex computer science and software engineering principles
· Expertise in Android Development with excellent hands-on experience of Android Studio/Gradle, Android SDK, Kotlin, Java, SQLite, Google Volley
· Successful track record of designing and delivering mobile and tablet experiences
· Excellent communicator and team player with strong organizational and estimation skills
· Excellent knowledge of working with dynamic data (e.g., JSON, XML) through various interface types (e.g., REST, SOAP)
· Familiarity with client/server applications and usage of RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to backend services
· Experience with modeling tools and languages such as UML
· Ability to communicate advanced and complex concepts and ideas persuasively and concisely to all levels of the business
· Experience with performance profiling and tuning consumer applications
· Experience presenting to executives and partner business and development teams
· Experience completing an application and seeing it through the full life cycle of development
· Customer-focused mindset, taking pride in creating an informative data-driven journey
