Hare Krishna!
🙏
Dear devotees, have a question about Ekadashi.
Devotees in ISKCON now stop fasting the day after Ekadashi at a specific time according to the astrological calendar.
Please tell me this is Srila Prabhupada's direction? Did he talk about the importance of the exact time of breaking the fast?

Generally, Ekadasi fasting must be followed from Sunrise the day of Ekadasi to sunrise of Dwadasi. In case if it falls on Mahadwadasi then it should be on Trayodasi. As in many Ekadasi descriptions where Lord Krishna mentions to Yudhistir Maharaj quoting from various scriptures like Brahmanda, Bhavishottara, Brahma vaivartha puranas etc. One should start the beginning of fasting must be from the previous day that is Dasami. It is to give the right importance and to set the proper mood of fasting for the pleasure of the Supreme Lord Sri Hari. It is like a warning or reminder to all living entities that one should not eat grains on the next day. It is very practical from Lord's view that if someone comes to know that today is Ekadasi, he may not feel comfortable doing so. Though he may fast his mind still agitates to eat some food with no proper concentration on Bhakti activities.Regarding the breaking of fasting can be done anytime after the sunrise as stated above. In the Astrological calendar, the specific time is mentioned to break the fasting in a smooth way to offer it to Lord called Parana time that differs every Dwadashi. The devotees who are serving in a temple during Shringaar will break with the Nirmalya of Lord Jagannatha. That is how our Gaudiya or other Vaisnava sampradayas have been designed and following. I have not read anywhere that Srila Prabhupada never stressed about breaking of fasting since he knows that it should be done during the Parana time which is age old practice. Breaking of fasting before the Parana time leads to breaking the Ekadasi itself.Devotees in ISKCON now stop fasting the day after Ekadashi at a specific time according to the astrological calendar.
Anybody who fasts, breaks it during the parana time by consuming the grains like rice etc and after that fasting is not required. Do you mean the fasting should continue after Ekadasi also?

As far as I know, Srila Prabhupada never said anything about breaking Ekādaśī at a particular time. Obviously. it's not very important.

Hare Krishna!🙏The calendar says for example"BREAK THE FASTING BETWEEN 5:05 and 6:21".5:05 - it's sunrise. I understand it.But why exactly until 6:21?
