Conversion of Parameters

To Whom it may concern,

I am currently using the ISSCP HXG data product. I am having difficulty understanding how to convert the parameters from counts to their proper units using the tables. I know which tables to use but how to convert is the problem. Can you someone please spell this out to me with the appropriate equations? Parameters of interest are: iprs, vcsrad, vprs, vprsic, vrefta, and vtaiuc.

This is from the netCDF file global attribute "comments"

TO CONVERT COUNT UNITS TO PHYSICAL UNITS ----------
When attribute conversion_table is present for any variable, the reported values of count units may be converted to physical quantities by using the specified conversion table variable as a look-up table whose index is count value 0-255. For example, 

temperature = tmptab(count), 

temperature_variance = tmpvar(count), 

pressure = pretab(count), 

reflectance = rfltab(count), 

optical_depth = tautab(count), 

ozone = ozntab(count), 

humidity = humtab(count), 

water_path = wpatab(count). ----------

The table you should use for a particular table is given in that variables attribute called "conversion_table"

Ken,

Thank you. I made this more complicated then it should have been. I'm just used to data set require a conversion that requires a slope and offset to be applied.
