According to the information from this link
https://irods.org/download/, the iRODS Server can only be installed on CentOS 7 or on Ubuntu 16 or on Ubuntu 18 Operating System. It is the same also for iRODS iCommands. (I hope that link is updated)
For Testing I installed iRODS Server on CentOS 7 and this is working fine so far. But now I would like to install iRODS server for the production system.
After reading that the end of life of CentOS 7 is June 30, 2024, I wonder if it makes sense to install the iRODS server for production on CentOS 7. I think, after that date (June 30, 2024), the iRODS server installed on CentOS 7 will be affected. Is it possible to install iRODS server on CentOS 8? If this is possible, I think, this would be better, instead of installing iRODS on CentOS 7.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Kind Regards,
Jana
