Just registered for MPYC for this Saturday. Laird, Toshi, Chris, Garth, and Tracy will be there as well. Should be fun, and at $30, a very reasonably priced regatta!

Thanks Al!  Yes, let's get some more sign-ups! Not only is Monterey a beautiful place to sail (and conditions should be perfect this Saturday), but this is a D24 Grand Prix event!

Also consider Friday night racing in Santa Cruz--what a great cap to a work week.  No BBQ this week at SCYC, but we'll provide some pizza.

Hello, 

Another invitation email to the Monterey Peninsula YC ILCA (Laser) Championship this Saturday. This will be a fun regatta. It is one day regatta in relaxed/friendly atmosphere, typically pleasant medium breeze, friendly yacht club people, clear water and beautiful scenery, and you can often meet ocean animals (dolphin, small whale, even sunfish and manta if you are lucky). I always felt good when I was driving back home after finishing the races, feeling “oh, I spent good time.” As of this writing, I see eight sailors already signed up. Not bad number, but more would be fantastic. The registration fee is only $30 ($15 for junior). The registration seems open until Saturday 11am (till very last minutes!) and they are generous not charing any late fee, but it will be good to sign up sooner. 

While we never be 100% sure until we actually go to the bay this Saturday, I expect the wind would be pleasant range: 8-12 knts; This has been the case in the past couple of days, and it looks there is nothing dramatic change happening in the next couple of days. So, let’s go!

Hey everyone,

My weekend plans fell through so I have some time to go race in Monterey on Saturday.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a boat I could borrow or charter over there? I'll bring my blades, spars and sails, so just the hull should be fine.
