Farzana, my deepest condolences, sympathies, solidarity - and rage - at YET ANOTHER BRAVE YOUNG LIFE SNUFFED OUT so senselessly -  DELIBERATELY targeted and killed last night...

I hope this latest target killing will cause at least SOME in this group to reflect and introspect.

It is much-needed.

FYI:  despite my confirmed other commitments today, AND the rain, I will join you at the protest demo, because this is an emergency protest demo that should touch NOT JUST our minds - and even our hearts - BUT most importantly, ALSO OUR SOULS........

He had submitted applications to RPO Hazara and DPO for protection few days ago but as usual "Gher Siyasi Police" did nothing. 

What the hell intelligence agencies are doing in Abbottabad, which is known as HUB of intelligence agencies like Islamabad but armed-men were roaming over there and escaped as well.

Afzal's Wife Hira (from Abbottabad) with three children can be in extreme danger as no one has left to safe guard them. They should be moved to Abbottabad atleast.

The courts, the police the investigating authorities have all failed this brave young man who was courageously struggling to obtain justice for the five young women killed for the 'crime' of singing and clapping at a wedding. Three of Afzal's brothers were killed and he knew his life too was in danger, but we could do nothing to save him, although Farzana raised this issue in the Supreme Court persistently and was constantly in touch with Afzal. The NCSW took up his case too, but all to no avail. It seems the police, the courts and the powerful are always on the side of the of criminals.

I feel guilty and ashamed. We too failed him

Sorry for this stuff. He had come to save his brother/s who were implicated by Jirga. Then he exposed those criminals who killed women/girls. 

(Jirga had decided to kill girls and boys as per senseless Pakhtun tradition) found all over Pakistan as well. 

Respect his struggle and sympathies with him and his family but fact must be respected as well.

I totally agreed with seniors (Tahira apa, Naeem sb and Nasreen apa), HR ministry and NCSW should take up this issue and they should provide security and shelter immediately to his family. If they are under pressure, then who will protect us… Sure, we will raise again this issue today through Women’s Azadi March at 03:00pm.

 

Yesterday, civil society raised Afzal Kohistani at press club but they needed more voices and pressure.

 

Let’s do something jointly for him and for his family.
