monitor.pngHi!

We need your help.
I have 2 PCs, 3 monitors each.
But one of the monitors of the first computer is located above two monitors connected to the second computer.
I drew a picture.

The problem is that in the settings I cannot move this monitor to the right (as it physically is). Because of this, it becomes inconvenient to move the mouse, especially if you need to move a window between the monitors of the first computer.

Please tell me how you can configure the monitor of the first computer on the same vertical with the monitors of the second computer.

Best regards

Shane

Hi Alex,

Input Director doesn't support separate monitors on a single computer, as Windows itself doesn't support this model. How has the Windows display setup been configured?

Input Director should be configured to reflect the same monitor layout on that computer.

Hi!

Thanks for the help!
Apparently I didn't formulate my problem correctly.
In reality, everything works. This is a very cool program - it helps me out a lot!
But there is a small problem - if in the InputDirector settings you try to configure monitor 3 exactly the same as in Windows, that is,
so that the left edge of monitor #3 is to the right of the right edges of monitors 1-2, then the “magnetic connection” breaks and all 3 monitors become in one vertical column.
It’s a pity that I can’t attach a video, I think it would be immediately clear. But I made a drawing.

"Input Director doesn't support separate monitors on a single computer, as Windows itself doesn't support this model."
Windows does support a discontiguous setup.

In related issues, I'm running into a weird issue when the number of monitors isn't correctly set.
I have two monitors connected to my Director, and it works fine to move my mouse to my second pc.
If ID thinks the Director has 3 monitors, it no longer can move the mouse to the second pc, even with cursor wraparound turned on.

It's a real issue for me, since I end up changing my monitor config at least a few times a day.

Yes, Windows supports it - I have no problems with it. The only problem is to do the same in ID.

About your problem. I haven't looked into where the ID stores its settings. Apparently either in the Windows registry or somewhere in the ID files. But I would try to make reg files or their analogues - in order to double-click on their label to install the currently required ID configuration. It is clear that this is not entirely convenient, but it is many times faster than the usual way of going to the ID settings and changing the number of monitors. It's really annoying.

Right now I have a script that runs from task scheduler that checks to see the number of monitors and changes and reruns input director accordingly.

It's not quite perfect though, because I haven't figured out a good way for it to identify which monitors it's actually connected to.

I have a unusual setup, where I'd like input director to run if it's connected to a specific two monitors, but not if it's connected to another set of two monitors.
