Just received 8 from Hobby King to add  to my existing 2 x HS805BB.

Warning 1) : Potentiometers are round. (Reprints here I come.)

Warning 2) : All metal gears, including the end stop pin. This I had to hacksaw off as it would not come out, even using a hot air gun.

Warning 3) : As previously mentioned elsewhere:  needs 1K/1.1K/1.2K Resistors to get 180 deg movement;  Also motor needs reversing, one way or another.

Beginning to wonder whether the cost saving versus HS805BB is really worth it?

Yes you are correct, I had bought some HK15338 and did mention some of your warnings in this page:
HK15338 (25kg torque, fit perfectly, needs resistors, reversed polarity)
Round potentiometer is similar to the HS805BB (at least the ones I had bought)
The metal end stop can be extracted with a plier while applying small rotations, the gear should be held in a vice.
Another warning I should mention is that the small motor gear becomes loose on the motor shaft if too much torque is applied after a while.
I would recommend not using the HK15338 for the omoplate servo.

Gael,
Please can you clarify:
Assuming I first follow your guidelines to reverse the HK15338 operation in the MRL config.
What is then the potentiometer wiring, straight  thru or reversed for:-
a) "normal" HS805BB behaviour
b) "reversed" HS805BB behaviour.
Thanks
Maurice
