Good afternoon everyone!

I'm sorry this won't look a nice as the ones Nicole sent out - but as I was wrapping up the PSA creation I ran into a problem getting the Academic Plan to do the "sum of scores". I made a case in the support portal and CCS helped me figure out what was wrong.

If you are going to use the Sum of scores at or above option on tests they have to be different parent tests. Right now this just affects KCK for the community service PSA, but I know some of you were thinking about doing a teacher scored test as the way to collect college credit hours.

Since I have decided KCK will not enter Community Service hours more often than quarterly, then I made 4 tests a year that hours can be entered for. I will copy this forward each year to have one test per quarter grading period.

Here is how my 25-26 looks in the Assessment Center. I chose to have the test name with PSA before the year so all the PSA's would stack up nicely in the Test Score box on the student tab.

Here is how it looks for a student I gave fake data to. I picked four different quarterly tests to assign points on.

Here is how the graduation plan reads it and knows it is 40+.

It doesn't work if you try to to child tests off single parent test or a single parent test for the year. Or if you just make one test & try to repeat it with different dates. The academic plan can see it all, but it will never add the items up and look like the picture below.

Wanted to share now, before anyone else has the same headache!

Here is a screenshot of what was put into the end of my ticket #1949443 about the academic planner not adding up the assessments.
So it doesn't have an SIS #, but there is a key on there.

Thank you for this.  Are your HS terms in quarters?  Or why were Quarter entries chosen?  Our HS goes by semesters so I would assume if we did it similarly, we would use semesters and not quarters.

Am I thinking correctly?

Hi Leslie,

Our schools all have 4 terms and we do some type of grade posting (for credit or for grade cards) each term. The quarterly timing for Community Service was for us to collect the data in a regular manner and not go too long without updating. Now, if we do quarterly checks on graduation progress, the PSA for community service has a chance to be current on the same timeline.

Let me know if this helps or it just makes it more confusing :-)

I'll check in with our principal, but does it make sense to use 'Quarters' as an example if our high school doesn't use quarter terms? Since our courses and grades are set up by Semester, can we still track PSA accomplishments by quarters, or should everything match our semester timeline?

Hi Leslie,

If you only do things on a semester timeline I would align with that. You can then set up reminders to have data entered each semester and run your academic planners at that time too.
