Hi, Bimal ji,
Was it cultivated or wild.
If cultivated, pl. check Gymnanthemum amygdalinum (Delile) Sch. Bip. as per comparative images at Vernonieae‎ and as per details at Vernonia

If it is wild, Vernonia extensa is a synonym of Gymnanthemum extensum (Wall. ex DC.) Steetz in checklist of Nepal.
Pl. check
Flora of China  FoC illustration Specimen in GBIF  Biodiversity of Bhutan  Catalogue of life (India (Sikkim, Darjeeling, Assam, Manipur), China (Yunnan, Guizhou), Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar [Burma] (Chin, Kachin, Sagaing, Shan), Bangladesh)

Strobocalyx esculenta (Hemsl.) H.Rob., S.C.Keeley, Skvarla & R.Chan (syn: Vernonia esculenta Hemsl.) is not reported from India
