Hello friends

This was seen on the way to Amboli hill station, MH in Aug 2021.

Both appear quite close.
I could not find the keys between the two on the internet, including in FoPI.
Can anyone post keys or differences between the two?

The distinctly hairy fruits in these photographs are indicative of Mussaenda frondosa L.

The berries of M. glabrata are glabrous. Another key difference is that the seeds are spiny in M. glabrata but not so in M. frondosa.

In the old floras of the Bombay Presidency (Cooke et al.), the plant with glabrous fruit described as M. frondosa refers to M. frondosa var. glabrata (now known as M. glabrata).

Best wishes, Viplav
