Sir,

Do we count Justicia procumbens L. and Rostellularia adscendens (R.Br.) R.M.Barker two different taxa?

Several botanical websites think they are synonymous. One Australian Govt. website thinks 5 subspecies of Rostellularia adscendens (R.Br.) R.M.Barker have been distinguished. What would be Indian species? Specially at NE India?

Another Australian site thinks Rostellularia adscendens (R.Br.) R.M.Barker is synonymous with - "Justicia notha C.B.Clarke, Flora of British India 4: 537(1885), Type: INDIA?; Herb. Wight.". Should we accept this one?

There is another species Justicia assamica Clarke, FBI. iv. 537; which is allied to J. notha and J. khasiana (Flora of British India, vol4). As per FBI J. notha Clarke has flowers with 1/3 rd inch corolla.

Or should we accept the following -

Justicia procumbens L. var. latispica Clarke, Flora of British India 4: 539(1885)?

The later being distributed in Assam region and synonymous with Justicia mollissima (Nees) Y.F. Deng & T.F. Daniel as per TPL.

Thank you
Regards
