Seen growing wild in Nasik, Maharashtra on 3/4/12.
Acacia nilotica?
Kindly confirm id.

This looks to be Acacia nilotica subspecies indica (Babool)

Please check the characters for Acacia farnesiana also.   It produces sweet smelling fragrant flowers

Appears more like Acacia nilotica ssp. indica to me...
