Sir,

I will be no less happy than Gurcharan Sir if this species turns out to be Oxalis stricta L.
I may quite well be wrong, but my conscience says this is not O. corniculata L.

Though uploaded photographs do not give much detail of the species, yet I think this is O. stricta L., because :-
  1. "yellow flowers..... can have patches of red in the throat...." - http://www.terrain.net.nz/friends-of-te-henui-group/weeds/oxalis-yellow-woodsorrel-oxalis-stricta.html
  2. supporting the above - http://swbiodiversity.org/seinet/taxa/index.php?taxon=2687&taxauthid=1
  3. also - http://www.moberly.k12.mo.us/images/matc/web%20design/SiteZA2/edibles.html
  4. sepals linear to narrowly elliptic (oblong-lanceolate in O. corniculata) - http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=242416902
  5. supporting the above - http://www.aphotoflora.com/images/oxalidaceae/oxalis_stricta_upright_yellow_sorrel_flower_side_view_29-08-06.jpg (http://www.aphotoflora.com/d_oxalis_stricta_upright_yellow_sorrel.html)
  6.  a different version of identifying the two species can be found in - http://www.ppws.vt.edu/scott/weed_id/oxast.htm
I would like to request experts to have a relook at another post https://groups.google.com/forum/?hl=en&fromgroups=#!topic/indiantreepix/xPKCfZ-U_oo  for the probability of O. stricta.

Thank you.

Regards,

surajit
