The flower head looks young but I think it is not bigger than that..
Flower heads in these groups have variations..what could be the species..???

Not a grass. Probably Fimbristylis miliacea (Cyperaceae)- from Manoj Chandran ji.

This can be Fimbristylis littoralis or Fimbristylis quinquangularis. Need a specimen to confirm the identity.
