Tree seen in New Windsor in June, 17.
This was in the woods.
Couldn't get closer.
Could be Ailanthus Species?

yes
Ailanthus altissima

a tall towering tree
grows very large

bought in to USA in 1899 or so as an ornamental from England
where it was brought by mistake by a missionary as a source of varnish resin (???)

and later nursery trade pushed it as a tree for easy shade in NY city and its boroughs
and even USDA it seems gave out seeds
grows anywhere and everywhere

but, now considered a noxious weed

twist of fate: its call tree of heaven
may be because of its full mature tree height?

its even banned now to be planted imported etc to Massachusetts.
==

its flowering and the leaves were clearly seen in this picture
which grows in the same kind a soils esp in NY and NJ

Ushadi

Usha Di,
Many thanks for the id.
To me also it looked like Ailanthus altissima.
But since I'm not familiar with US plants, wasn't very sure.
Regards,
Aarti
