Garg Ji,
You have been reviewing Viola Species recently.
Posting this Species from Doodhpathri, near Srinagar seen in April 2016.
Guess I missed posting it earlier.
Sorry for the poor quality of images. Light was very low due to a hail storm.
Regards,
Aarti

Leaf and habitat images would have been easier for ID.
Thank you.

Difficult to say much with these images.
However, Viola pilosa Blume is possible.

Hi, Aarti ji,
On further checking, it may not be Viola pilosa Blume
Pl. post original images one by one including habitat images for more scrutiny.

I could find a close up of the flower.
Gurcharan Ji should know which species are seen in that area.

It appears close to Viola indica, but hairs seen on the inside of petals make the id doubtful.
Also leaves are also not clear.
So it better to leave it unidentified.

Garg Ji,
Could be Viola odorata?
The leaves look similar.

Aarti

Though leaves are not very clear but from whatever visible looks like V. canescens, V. pilosa (syn: V. serpens) would have acuminate leaves.

Thanks a lot Gurcharan Ji.
I had seen Viola Species in Nainital which was identified as Viola canescens.
But the flowers were much lighter in color.
That got me confused.

Aarti
