 Ziziphus jujuba Miller, Gard. Dict., ed. 8. Ziziphus no. 1. 1768. 
Syn: Ziziphus vulgaris Lamk.; Z.sativa Gaertn.
English names: Jujube, Chinese date, Red Date
Local names: Singli, Baryan, Unnab.  

Shrub or small tree with spreading branches with up to 3 cm spines, branches glabrous. Leaves elliptic-oblong to ovate, glabrous,dark green on upper surface, lighter beneath, margins crenate-serrate, apex obtuse to subacute. Flowers 3-4 mm across, greenish-yellow; fruits globose to oblong, 1-2 cm across, red. Prefers colder climates.
    Related species Z. mauritianus has much smaller spines rarely exceeding 7 mm and leaves are densely tomentose beneath.

Garg ji, I had seen this paper. Mine was a tree and not low shrub, fruit larger, fits with type subspecies, that is why I did not right Ziziphus jujuba subsp. jujuba
