Hello friends

Requesting to please ID this plant with white flowers captured in a cultivated garden in Mumbai in June 2013. The plant was a water plant.

To me the white flowers look like Echinodarus palaefolius, Mexican Sword Plant.
The aquatic plant with long leaves is something else.

It is correctly placed, but the species look different from the two in our database at Echinodorus

The leaves in the pics do not resemble those of Ottelia alismoides.
I am positive that the leaves and flowers belong to the same plant though.

I would like to point out that there is variation in size and shape of the leaves of the  plant ( Echinodorus palifolius) I have observed in private garden in Bengaluru. Some leaves are broad and some are long. Please see the photo attached.
