Location: bloomed near Vannappuram Thodupuzha Idukki Kerala INDIA

Altitude: 1500fsl

Flower date: 09SEP2023, 03.20pm

Habitat: wild moisture evergreen misty sloppy alpine 

Plant habit: climbing herb, branches, weak cylindrical stem 07mm base circumference, velvety sprouts, perennial

Height: 02 meters

Leaves: opposite heart shaped acute soft smooth leathery glossy, size upto: 10×7cm

Flower: axillary buds, globular petal, diameter:22mm, greenish yellow, strange smell

Fruit: lengthy cone shaped paired, green into purple to brown

Seed:

Dear Mahadeswara ji,

Thank you very much for the family identification of my plant.

The plant having white sticky latex also.  As I mentioned earlier, if it manually open the flower to see the inside, petal will wilt immediately.

Also known to occur in Idukki district is Heterostemma vasudevanii.

Hope somebody more familiar with this genus in Kerala can ascertain the species.

I have not seen this species but it seems to match quite well with the illustration of Heterostemma beddomei  (except the corona),  which is designated as lectotype in the Phytotaxa paper mentioned in one of the emails in this thread.
