I too tried the key in Flora of China and that comfortably took me to Euphorbia bifida. The only character that was not sure about was that whether the
capsule glabrous or pubescent. The capsule in the picture seem to be immature. When I tried with the capsule pubescent, it took me to one known species (E. hirta) and the other species (E. indica) has strikingly different character (stem uniformly white puberulent).
Hence I too think that this would be Euphorbia bifida.

Giby

Thanks Gibby ji and Gurcharan ji for the efforts taken.
I think you have searched and extracted maximum possible characters with available pictures. Further Id depends upon getting a specimen again and confirming all the characters physically. Very interesting discussion indeed.
Thanks everybody including Bharati ji and Dr Natraj for suggesting your views.

Euphorbia hypericifolia.  Note the large stipules spreading away from the stems.

I don't know about the occurrence of E. bifida in India, but I do know that E. bifida is hairy and this is quite glabrous.  Also, the leaves of E. bifida should be narrower.  Someone also suggested E. maculata, which is also hairy.

Dear All
This appears to be Euphorbia hypericifolia L, native to America, introduced into India and now found naturalised in most wastelands and gardens.
