Stem: Cylindrical, Striated, yellowish, old stem sparsely hairy, Younger stems thickly hairy.
Leaves: Lower leaves lyrate, deeply lobed, spinescent margins, 12-15 x 8-10 cm, Upper leaves variable, smaller, elliptic, sometimes spathulate, serrate with spinescent tips 2-3 x 1-2 cm.
Flowers: Corymbose, heads 0.5 cm across, colourless (I have seen this plant in April 12. As per the Maharashtra flora the Laggera aurita has flowering time in November-December and it is believed to have pinkish heads). Involucral bracts greenish, multiseriate, outermost bracts are smallest in size.
Achenes oblanceolate, ribbed with crown of long pappus hairs ie. about 3-4 times of length of achene.

Yes Gard jee,the leaves are different, as in Laggerra the lower leaves (not rosette leaves) on the main stem are different and upper leaves are with auricular bases. hence i feel it is Laggerra aurita.Regards,Satish Pardeshi
