Many thanks, Gurcharan ji.
I may be mistaken, but the posted plant does not show any conical terminal stipule. The leaves are oppositely arranged, and a yellowish cream coloured structure, seemingly a flower, is seen in the first photo, almost near the centre. In the first 3 photos, we see some bud-like structures though they appear strangely lobed. I hope these structures are not some kind of stem galls.

Regards.
Dinesh

Many thanks Garg ji.
Radha, in iNaturalist, suggested the possibility of Garcinia.
I believe the plant could be Garcinia gummi-gutta (L.) N.Robson

Dear Sir

As per minimal morphological identification markers its difficult to ensure exact species but as per photographs might be this belongs to Clusiaceae family and should be some Garcinia species. In Garcinia such kind of flower buds appear on apical parts of branches, not sure but much closer to Garcinia morella.

Kind regards,

Varun

Many thanks Garg ji and Varun ji for pointing to possible ID.

I wish to draw your attention to the plant in my post dated Jan 30, 2026 · 4:53 PM IST - observed a day earlier, just about 200m away from the plant in this post.
The leaves are almost and quite similar. I urge you to check the possibility of Garcinia gummi-gutta (L.) N.Robson

Regards.
