Since there are no names given in Kannada and Malayalam for this plant, I will add the following names:

ರಜಾಯಿ rajaayi
മെത്ത metta

These are on lines of names in Gujarati (ગોદડી godadi) and Marathi (गोधडी godhadi) ... these mean "quilt" - a warm bed covering made of padding enclosed between layers of fabric. The name arises from plant's ground-covering or spreading like a mat.

Let me know if there is any wrong implication.
