posted the pics of a flowering tree from the genus Hymenodictyon in V.J.B.Udyan (Rani Bagh) in the 2nd week of July 2010.

I think this is Hymenodictyon orixense hopefully.

Hi Shubhada and Tanay,

I am sure this is  H. obovatum. The elliptic or obovate leaves, abruptly acuminate, clearly seen in the leaves, sessile flowers. Have mentioned these characteristics  a few days back to ID the same plant.  The other main distinguishing feature is the stipule with glandular margins. Attaching a pic. of the same from the same tree pics I had taken and also close up of flowers.

 To me these appears more closer to images of Hymenodictyon orixense

This should be Hymenodictyon orixense (Roxb.) Mabb.

It seems to be Hymenodictyon excelsum (syn. H. orixense).
