Please identify this shrub from Kannur district of Kerala. Flowering has just started. Habitat is of rocky, dry, lateritic type. collected on 26/12/19

Yes, appears to be male flower buds of Margaritaria indica as per references herein.

Yes, quite possible. However, the plant is usually a tall tree.

yes. this appears to be Margaritaria indica.
