Garg Sir , from EFI page , from paper by J R I Wood . And descriptions in
JCB herbarium , IBIS pages helped too .
Eye opener was pricks sustained by H. verticillatus inTungi near Lonavala
MH , then came the Paper on revision of Acanthaceae in India with good
account of "Haplanthus neilgherryensis" which made things easier . I went
through my collection and found out H. t. var. plumosa ( or plumosus ? )
recorded from matheran which is very distinct in having plumose cladodes .

A 15 m tall tree. Fruit is very hard and composite. When fruit is opened
it looks like Annona.

The whole world uses my Image Resource of more than a thousand species & eight thousand images of Birds, Butterflies, Plants etc. (arranged alphabetically & place-wise). You can also use them for free as per Creative Commons license attached with each image.
