Sharing pictures of Capparis cartilaginea from Muscat, Oman.
Found on mountain slopes and rocks.
One of the picture shows an open fruit.

Thanks for sharing Aarti Ji. This is new addition to my database. I think it is also found in India.

Garg Ji,
Dr Annette Patzelt of Oman Botanic Garden has validated this to be Capparis cartilaginea.
I have known this with the same name all these years.
As far as I understand,Capparis spinosa is a different Species, also found in Oman.
I have seen and photographed both.
And I think I have posted both on our group.
Regards,
Aarti

Hi, Aarti ji,
That was an earlier understanding. But it changed after publication of A taxonomic revision of the Capparis spinosa group (Capparaceae) from the Mediterraneanto Central Asia Phytotaxa 174 (1): 001–024 (2014) by SILVIO FICI. Pl. go through it.

It is Capparis spinosa subsp. spinosa var. aegyptia and not Capparis spinosa subsp. cartilaginea as per latest publication A taxonomic revision of the Capparis spinosa group (Capparaceae) from the Mediterraneanto Central Asia Phytotaxa 174 (1): 001–024 (2014) by SILVIO FICI
