Salvia nemorosa

Hello,

from Periyar, Kerala (900m), january 2019.
According to "Flowers of India" it would be Salvia nemorosa.
Can you confirm ?

Why not S.splendens itself.

Although color in not always a criterion, in that case S.splendens is red not violet...

Leaves look different from images of Salvia nemorosa as per

It is Salvia splendens only as suggested by Rajasekharan ji, as per images and details herein (purply cultivar).

It is Salvia splendens only. It has many colour variants. It is wrongly mentioned as S. nemorosa at FoI.
