There are six Indian species of the genus Physalis  viz., (P. alkekengi .; P. angulata .; P. ixocarpa .; P. longifolia .; P. minima .; P. peruviana .)

This specimen was collected from Narayanpur,Nalgonda district,Telengana.
I have not seen any other plant having numerous fruits. The ripe fruit is green.
