Since there is no known name for this plant in Marathi, I am giving a name कुक्कुरदंत kukkuradanta, literal meaning - dog tooth, कुक्कुर = dog; दंत = tooth.

In Kannada (ನಾಯಿಕುಳಿ naayikuli) and Tulu (ನಾಯಿಕ್ಕೂಲಿ naaikkuli) - the names literally mean "dog tooth" ... due to plant's well-known therapeutic efficacy against dog bite.
