Submission of Dillenia bracteata 

endemic to South India. Within A.P it is located in Kambakkam hills of Chittoor district of A.P at high altitudes.

Plant name: Dillenia bracteata Wight

Common names: Racemed fish bone tree (Eng.); Chiruteku,  Kalla teku (Tel.)

Description: Evergreen tree. Bark greyish-brown; young shoots tomentose. Leaves elliptic-obovate 15-45 x 5-20 cm, entire or crenate, coriaceous, glabrescent at maturity; lateral nerves 12-20 pairs. Flowers white turning yellow, 7-9 cm across, in few flowered racemes or in clusters on old branches; pedicels about 1cm long, silky. Stamens  numerous; anthers  linear. Carpels 5, styles 5, free. Pseudocarp 2-3cm in dia., 1-2 seeded; seeds ovoid, dark reddish-brown to black, glabrous.(flowers missing in our collection)
