Hedychium flavescens or H. flavum from California, cultivated? pl help-GSAPR01/01

This ornamental tall herb was photographed from Fremont in California, growing about 2 m tall. Please help in choosing between H. flavum and H. flavescens.

people who have been dealing in them for a  long time are themselves confess to be confused, see the answer by the Tallahassee guy (GingersRus(Tallahassee z8B)  )

Characters var. flavum var. flavescens
Lamina 26-37.5 cm long, green or hyaline hairy below 46-50.5 cm long, golden yellow hairy below
Flower length 12.5-13 cm 15.3-15.6 cm
Calyx length 3.3-3.5 cm 4.2-4.4 cm
Corolla tube length 7.9-8 cm 9-9.1 cm
Dorsal corolla lobe length 3.7-3.8 cm 4.8-4.9 cm
Lateral staminodes 3.9-4.1 x 1.4-1.5 cm 5-5.1 x 1.6-1.8 cm
